What is Walking Coaching ?
  • This is a type of coaching, which involves coach and client going for a walk together, e.g. to a local park or Nature trail. Like regular coaching, just outdoors.

 

  • It a great way to shift thinking.  Science is increasingly evidencing the value of movement, for both mind and body.

 

  • Walking coaching is also popular walking separately, while talking on a mobile phone. One person can walk on the beach and the other in a forest!

  • Winterbourne gardens (https://www.winterbourne.org.uk/) , near Birmingham University is recommended for walking coaching.  There is plenty of space to walk in the gardens, gazebos to sit or shelter if it rains, and cafes for refreshment. Parking is at the gardens. I am a member so entrance is free for you. 

 

  • Other locations – please ask. For example, Highbury Park or a Moseley architectural walk.

 

  • Cost

    • Rates from £70 / hour (£60 concession).

    • Sessions 60 or 90 minutes.

    • Packages of 3 sessions are commonly used.

Walking helps your brain to widen options and look to the future, which is the essence of coaching. Advances in Neuroscience show the value of movement. Recommend this accessible summary of up-to date science:
